Sujet: Promo Only Videos Now WaterMarked - Page: 3

Now that I've heard P.O.'s reason behind the water mark, I understand it. Seems they would've sent that info to us before they sent us the first disc's with it. At first, I wasn't happy about the water mark. Now that I know it's required by the label's and if they don't have it I don't get video... I'm cool with it. If we would've had this info beforehand, this thread may not exist.

@ Mp3jrick... Thanks for clearing up the water mark deal by posting your correspondence with P.O. It was great info all of us subscribers needed.

I agree some notice would have been a better approach.

Another real time concern is for us is the video licensing.
Our subscription is what allows us to operate under their umbrella legally.
If you are a club dj or operate in public access areas and using illegal video, you are risking huge fines to both yourself and the club.
Granted the clubs pay their fees, but that is not going to cover the use of illegal content, they get fined as well.
It's done, I've seen it, I've lost jobs to others who use illegal content.
It's a suck pill we have to swallow and its not going to get better, in fact with the steps being taken this is the beginning of the end for the producers and also those who use it.

Audio is not the same, video is a different animal all together and carries crazy penalties.

So look at this from the stand point of measures being taken to protect you not hurt you, your repution or to piss you off.

PO has done more than anybody in the biz to grow this format and bring it to the public at a very reasonable price compared to the early days of video mixing.
Those that remember Rock America, mixing beta tape and lazer disc know exactly what I am talking about.
In fact for the veterans of the biz, PO is making it easy and cheap to get into the game with the classic series which recaps only the charting tracks that the rest of us paid for dearly.

So try to be positive about this.
IMO the credit spashes are far more offensive to me when it looks like this on the bottom third of the screen even for the short time they are up there.
Examples:
Love For Money - DJ Drama Presents Willie The Kid f./LA The Darkman, Gucci Mane, Bun B, Flo Rida, Yung Joc & Trey Songz
Shawty/Get Low - Mike Phillips, Mr. ColliPark, Karen Briggs, Peter Black, Abdul Ra\'Oof & Jimmy Brown
Out Here Grindin - DJ Khaled f./Akon, Rick Ross, Plies, Trick Daddy, Lil\' Boosie & Ace
I'm So Hood - DJ Khaled f./Young Jeezy, Ludacris, Busta Rhymes, Big Boi, Lil Wayne, Fat Joe, Birdman & Rick Ross
And its only with the urban notice...hmmmm

Cut that crap out and I'll be happy

One of my good friends always said this "What is with these hip hop dudes? Can't just one guy make a record? I mean they complain that they are not in gangs, then turn around and record in one......"
