Last night in the middle of a gig one guy came to me asking me to play his favorite song from his usb stick because as he said it was in a very special version....and quess what..the stick was infected..I use a vdj dedicated laptop without antivirus e.t.c so a very nice trjan is having a party in my laptop which keeps restarting all the time.....no more usb sticks for me...BE Careful guys....

unlucky me i go for a format right now i lost evthing.....cue points loops skins e.t.c nosleep today.....
 
i had that problem i lost all my cues two weeks ago on 2600 songs now im still working on them..
 
dear sonido i had cued up about 20000 songs i am in dispare
 
now thats ganna be stress full..uhh..that also means you have to get the bpms scanned too right??
 
thats right its gonna take one or two days scanning i guess...and friday night is on the way ...i am working tonight
 
can't you take your rig to the day before it all happened (system restore) by the way ,is there a way to lock the cues when you set them? i always erase them by accident.

time to get that norton secuirity ..hehehe..i use it and it works GOOD..but its about to expire so i have to get a new one..
 
right now i m installing windows all over again because the lappy couldnt stop restarting......and as a future solution i will create a file[not in usb stick] to backup vdj database from time to time...
 
so how would you do that??..kuz i dnt want that to happen to me..
 
there is an xml file created by vdj in the directory in which you store your mp3s called vdjdatabse
 
ahh so i move it to my laptop and not my usb stick??
 
if it is virus free do whatever you like
 
Stay away from Norton, there are better and much less resource hungry AVs out there. I use Zonealarm as I can turn it off easily.
 
Windows Live one Care is really good and you can use it on 3 computers. If you have a really good virus protection software, you have nothing to worry about. I used memory sticks that had trojans and nothing happend...( It gets Cleaned Up and Disappears ) Trojans can apper on some websites when a page opens up. Im using it on my DJ laptop and its not disabled when im dj ying. It doesnt consume much energy. I use memory sticks and externals HDs all the time. Its all about The Right software............ AVG free is really good and it is free, also get spybot to get rid of malware, adware, etc.

Both are free and both are great

That's what I use on all 3 of my machine's, even on my gig laptop.

Can't fault it!!!!!!
 
what file does all the loop and cue points save to?
