Pads
Pads (4) offer 8 different modes, depending on the PAD MODE SEL buttons (3). Each of the 4 PAD MODE SEL buttons offers 2 individual modes. Press the same PAD MODE button again to access the additional mode (the LED will blink as an indication).
Each time a mode is selected on the Reloop Neon, the relative page will be displayed on the Pads section of the VirtualDJ GUI, for the assigned deck, as explained in the following sections.
Hold the MODE/SENCOR button down and then use the LOOP encoder to adjust the 1st Parameter of the selected Pad page.
Hold SHIFT down, press the MODE/SENCOR button down and then use the LOOP Encoder to adjust the 2nd Parameter (if exists) of the selected Pad page.
HotCue mode
Press the HOT CUE mode button to set the PADs to HotCue mode. The HotCue mode is selected by default on launch (for all decks). The Hotcues page will be then selected in the Pads section of VirtualDJ for the assigned deck.
Each one of the 8 pads assigns a Hot Cue Point (1 to 8) or returns the track to that Hot Cue Point. When a Hot Cue Button is unlit, you can assign a Hot Cue Point by pressing it at the desired point in your track. Once it is assigned, the Hot Cue Button will light up *.
Hold SHIFT and then press any of the pads to delete its assigned Hot Cue Point.
Hold MODE button down and then use the LOOP SIZE encoder to cycle through the available Hotcues.
Hold SHIFT and MODE buttons down and then use the LOOP SIZE encoder to jump the track backwards/forward by 1 beat
* Note. By default LEDs will get the color of the deck (blue for deck 1, red for deck 2 etc). Use the nonColoredPOI setting from VirtualDJ Settings->OPTIONS tab, to get different color options
Remix mode
While the Hot Cue mode is selected, press the same HOTCUE mode button again to set the PADs to Remix mode (led will blink). The Remix Points page will be then selected in the Pads section of VirtualDJ for the assigned deck.
Each one of the 8 pads triggers a Remix point (1 to 8) from the loaded track. Remix points are pre-assigned when a track is analyzed (loaded) and usually offer the Start and End points of a Break.
Remix points can be added/edited/deleted from the POI Editor of VirtualDJ.
When a Remix point is triggered, the track will jump to that point, but will also make a smooth transition, so that the Beat phase is kept and a seamless jump/mix offered.
HotLoop mode
Press the HOT LOOP mode button to set the PADs to Hot Loop mode. The CueLoop page will be then selected in the Pads section of VirtualDJ for the assigned deck.
Each one of the 8 pad assigns a Hot Cue Point or returns the track to that Hot Cue Point, but in both cases, it also triggers Loop at that point.
Hold SHIFT down and then use the same pads to jump to the Hotcue point but keep the Loop.
Hold the MODE button down and then use the LOOP SIZE Encoder to adjust the size of the loop.
Hold SHIFT and MODE buttons down and then use the LOOP SIZE encoder to select between the Hold (momentary Loop) and On/Off (toggle) modes.
Manual Loop mode
While the Hot Loop mode is selected, press the same HOT LOOP mode button again to set the PADs to Manual Loop mode (led will blink).
Each one of the 8 pad offers a different loop function.
Use Pads 1 and 2 to set a Loop Entry (In) and a Loop Exit (Out) point for manual looping.
Use Pad 3 to turn off the Loop (if enabled) or trigger a Loop of the selected size in beats
Use Pad 4 to repeat the last triggered loop (reloop)
Use Pads 5 and 6 to half/double the size of the Loop.
Use Pads 7 and 8 to move the Loop (if enabled) forward/backwards by 1 beat
While SHIFT is pressed use ..
Pad 1 to set the Jogwheel to Loop In Adjust mode and use the Jogwheel to fine adjust the Loop In position
Pad 2 to set the Jogwheel to Loop Out Adjust mode and use the Jogwheel to fine adjust the Loop Out position
Pad 3 to set the Jogwheel to Loop Move Adjust mode and use the Jogwheel to fine move the Loop through the track.
Pad 4 to enable/disable Smart Loop. When Smart Loop is enabled (default status), using Loop In and Loop Out buttons to trigger a Manual Loop, will result of a seamless loop (track will stay on beat)
Pad 5 to enable/disable Loop Back mode. When Loop Back mode is enabled, and an Auto Loop is enabled, the current track's position will be considered as the Loop Out (Exit) point of the loop and the passed part of the track will be looped.
Pad 6 to enable/disable Quantize Loop mode. When enabled, the Loop In point of a Loop will be snapped to the nearest beat
Pad 7 and 8 to move the loop (if enabled) forward/backwards by the amount of the size of the loop.
The LOOP SIZE encoder can be also used to double/half the size of the a Loop.
Slicer mode
Press the SLICER mode button to set the PADs to Slicer mode. The Slicer page will be automatically displayed on the Pads section of the VirtualDJ GUI
The eight pads represent eight sequential beats/Slices in the Beat Grid. The playing Slice is represented by the currently green lit pad. The green light will "move through the pads" as it progresses through each eight-Slice phrase. Press a pad to repeat that Slice (hold it down if you want to keep looping it). Once the Pad is released the track will continue to play from the position it would have been if the pad was never pressed.
Hold SHIFT button down and then use the same Pads to use the Slicer in Hold mode. In this mode, the slices are memorized (using the last triggered ones)
Hold MODE button down and then use the LOOP SIZE encoder to adjust the length of the applied loop on the slice.
Hold SHIFT and MODE buttons down and then use the LOOP SIZE encoder to increase/decrease the step of the Slicer.
Beatjump mode
While the Slicer mode is selected, press the same SLICER mode button again to set the PADs to Beatjump mode (led will blink). The Beatjump page will be automatically displayed on the Pads section of the VirtualDJ GUI
In this mode, each one of the Pads will jump the track backwards/forward by the amount of beats depending on the selected page/bank (from 1/8 beats to 32 bars)
Sampler mode
Press the SAMPLER mode button to set the PADs to Sampler mode. The Sampler page will be automatically displayed on the Pads section of the VirtualDJ GUI
Each one of the 8 pads triggers a sample (1 to 8) from the selected Sampler Bank of VirtualDJ. The leds of the Pads will automatically get the assigned color of each sample (dark when off, bright when playing).
Press the pads to trigger a sample. Depending on the selected trigger mode, use SHIFT and the same pads to stop the sample.
Hold MODE button down and then use the LOOP SIZE encoder to select a different Sampler Bank. Alternatively you can use the DECK/BANK SEL buttons (1) to directly select the first 4 Sampler Banks (1 to 4).
Hold SHIFT and MODE buttons down and then use the LOOP SIZE encoder to select a different trigger mode (On/Off, Hold, Stutter and Mute)
Hold SHIFT down and then use the DECK/BANK select buttons to select the Output channel (1 to 4) for the Sampler. By default VirtualDJ will output Sampler to all available decks if External mixer audio configuration is set and to the Master Output in other case. To force Sampler Output to Master (in case a deck is selected), hold SHIFT down and then press the same Output Assign button once again (all leds will be on in this case)
Hold the LOOP/SLIP (7) button down and then press any of the Pads to set a Sample to Loop or Drop mode. In drop mode, the sample will stop when reached at the end.
The orange leds above or below each sample will indicate the status (On when in Loop mode)
Notes:
- If the trigger mode or loop mode of a sample is changed, all other samples of the same group will get the same mode too.
- At the time that this manual is written, the changes are temporary (will be lost if a different bank is selected). Permanent changes in trigger and loop mode can be obtained from the Sampler Editor.
Effects mode
While the Sampler mode is selected, press the same SAMPLER mode button again to set the PADs to FX mode (led will blink). The special NEON FX page will be then selected in the Pads section of VirtualDJ for the assigned deck.
In this mode, Pads 5 to 7 enable/disable the selected Effect for Slots 1 to 3 respectively.
Press and hold Pads 1, 2 and 3 to temporary trigger the selected Effect for slots 1 to 3 respectively.
While the temporary Effect Pads (1 to 3) are used, the 1st parameter of the selected effect will be adjusted, according to the applied pressure. Once released, the value of the adjusted parameter will return to zero position.
Use Pad 4 to disable velocity or freeze the value of the effect parameter to the current position. (Can be turned off while Pads 1 to 3 are pressed too)
With velocity turned off, the 1st parameter of the selected Effects (for all 3 slots) can be adjusted using the TRACK (2) encoder and the 2nd parameter of the selected Effects from the LOOP (5) encoder.
Hold Pad 8 down and then use Pads 5, 6 and 7 to open/close the FX GUI of the selected effect (will be docked at the right side of the Browser), and get more effect parameters and options.
Hold SHIFT down and then use Pads 5, 6 and 7 to select the next Effect for each slot.
Hold SHIFT down and then use Pads 1, 2 and 3 to select the previous Effect for the same slot.
