SO WHAT AM I WAITING ON EKS TO CONTACT YOU RIGHT

Yes ... in the meantime, I am going to try and put something together and see if we can tackle this without them...

Ok, got feedback from EKS and the controller is actually HID ... which is no big deal ... but I need you to verify for me a couple buttons ...

Download this tool .... http://www.virtualdj.com/download/hidtrace.exe

A bit easier than the miditrace on ... your XP5 should be in the drop-down list ... select it ...

Then I just need to know the results for pressing the following 4 buttons ... EJECT, PITCH RANGE, IN, WHEELTOP (TOUCH)

Just need to know what values come back for those buttons to verify the translation I had to do from the EKS documentation.

Look forward to your feedback ...

when i click the on the drop down button and select the xp control it keep running im talking the numbers and when i press the buttons that u asked about nothing happens meaning no different

ok usind the midi trace when i press eject i see this
90 00 7F 00
90 00 00 00

when i press pitch range i see this

90 08 7F 00
90 08 00 00

when i press in i see this

90 10 7F 00
90 10 00 00

when i touch the top of the feel i see

90 7F 7F 00
90 7F 00 00

Sorry ... didn't make it available ... its available now.

Hi everyone!

I use two xp5, I try to map them with the general midi wrapper, but I can't use the jogs (all like DJ Chris Jam)
I tried with your definition file and mapper: VDJ recognize the controler but it doesn't recognize any buttons, jog or slider.

Thanks for trying to help us, in French forum, I couldn't find any information about this!

Was that with the most recent definition that I uploaded? Go to the My Documents\VirtualDJ\Devices folder and tell me the bit value set for the EJECT button ... if it is not <button bit="0x00" name="EJECT" /> then redownload the files ... http://www.virtualdj.com/addons/8317/EKS_XP5_-_V6_Beta.html

Yes, it was!

ok listen to this now. The Mapper u uploaded im not using yours being that I made my own mapper for the xp5 they are just like the xp10's. all my buttons work correctly. with the mapper u sent me what i did was load it and look for keys that i didn't have working like the navigation up,down and left, right so i added that to my mapper but this is where the problem lies. I cant get the jogwheel to work correctly as well as the scratching, if i get these two defination codes the xp5 is good to go with virtual dj and all you people need to do is let me know where do i find the simple midi mapper i created so i can upload it back to the website.

I was the first dj to upload a xp5 mapper on the website that worked with version 5 but right now i dont see it on the website anymore, why is this so.

Well you obviously don't understand that if you want the XP5 to work correctly with the NEW Mapper Engine then you are going to have to use the files that I will provide ... anything 'old' v5 and earlier .. is no longer relevant ...

It would be even better help if the Vendors supplied some hardware OR did this themselves .. but instead all we can do it trial and error ...

New beta definition and mapper uploaded ... http://www.virtualdj.com/addons/8317/EKS_XP5_-_V6_Beta.html

Hi!

With the new mapper engine that you've done, VDJ recognizes when you move the jog, but it doesn't recognize the buttons and the sliders.
Maybe that's because the buttons and the sliders are MIDI, and the jogs are HID?
That would explain why with the general MIDI mapper, we couldn't use the jog.

But, even if I don't touch the jog, VDJ scratch the song; and when I scratch with the jog, VDJ makes a too long scratch. I think that's because the movement of the jog isn't well synchronized with the movement of the virtual turntable of VDJ.
How can I sync them?

Thanks for all!

Well, I spoke a little bit too fast.

Now, everything work well with my xp5, and I can scratch, and use the jog as before.

That's what I've done:

1) With the general midi mapping, I mapped my xp5 as I would like to
2)I downloaded cstoll's mapper engine.
3)On "EKS xp5 definition", I wrote this:

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
<device name="XP5" author="Atomix Productions" type="HID" vid="0x1157" pid="0x0202" reportsize="32" decks="1">

<page type="in">
<jog word="0" endian="little" full="20960000" name="JOG" />
</page>
</device>

That's all!

Thanks to cstoll to help us!!!

Did you bother trying the definition with the buttons ? I need to understand what is happening and if the info is right?

Glad it is working and in the meantime ... can you help make the 'whole' definition right? Thanks.
