Sujet: 30% CPu for VDJ - Page: 2

Ce topic est ancien et peut contenir des informations obselètes ou incorrectes.

Hi, I bought a hercules Steel and was also experiencing high cpu usage (80-100%).
Although I have a old PC, it should still be strong enough to handle Virtual DJ.
My specs: Pentium4 3.0 Ghz, 2Gb RAM, Theatron 7.1 DD PCI soundcard, ati x1950 512mb gpu and two fast terabytes sata disks.

To cut to the chase: the problem was my onboard soundcard.
Because the steel doesn't have a own soundcard, I'm forced to use my internal pci soundcard for master output and my
onboard for prelistening.
When I disabled the onboard soundcard, cpu usage dropped down to 10-15%.

Now I'm looking for a good usb soundcard which doesn't consume alot cpu usage.
So, I suggest you also try usb soundcard and see if this helps for you.

PS If anybody could help me with steel mapper pack, I would be very greatful.

I use the Hercules Soundcard for the headphones and I use Gigaport Sondcard for the out

My guess is that many (cheap) onboard soundcards too much cpu resources while being used with virtual dj.
I forgot to mention that I own a Asus P4p800 E-Deluxe. There is nothing deluxe about it :)
So, no more onboard soundcards for me.

I plan on buying this usb sound card: LEXICON ALPHA,

Can anybody tell me if this is any good?

Same problem. Only audio involved. I run vdj 6.0.1 pro on a P4 2.93 GHz and 2 GB ram, XP Home sp3. I cleaned my registry, I stopped all non needed services, I turned off basic interpolation, I did a defrag ....... Still have cpu issues when loading tracks, no matter wether I use or not cpu meter skin. I'm now trying to use an older version of vdj but the one that was bundled with my dj console RMX wich definately works better! does not have any options/playlist (even though I bought it!!!). I'm considering turning to manual 100% so if something wrong happenz I can only blame myself

CPU issues when loading tracks? You do know that the CPU will be hit pretty hard whilst loading tracks don't you? This is normal.

Your Computer is in power saving mode. Click on the battery icon and change to high performance. In power saving mode sometimes the computer will only use one side of the duel core processor or sometimes a limited amount of the processor. In my computer running vista VDJ will idle at around 30% like yours does in power saving mode, but when I kick it into high performance VDJ idles at around 1-2% and on videos never higher than 65%. Try it out.
