Sujet: vdj 5.2.2 (VERSION WITH hERCULES RMX) - Page: 1

Hi guys

I'm new one here, just brought the Hercules with vdj 5.2.2 after years of cdjs and vdj 6 minus the controller.
I'm jut wondering if you can use auto play with the cue list ect on the vdj that comes with Hercules? And how comes it is not possible to enter into the configuraton menu on the supplied vdj version with the RMX? Do i have to update this version as its just a vey basic vesion or am i missing a button somewhere where i can config things myself?
Sorry if its a silly question guys,i'm just thinking of getting vdj 7 and being done with it!!!
Any advice would be more than appreciated

there should be a serial number with your version of vdj that you can upgrade to newest version at a discounted price...i would suggest the newest version.
and as always always have rmx hardware latest drivers from hercules.com...
also i never had a problem with config with any version of vdj.
open ticket with vdj team and explain update ect and they will give you the required info ect

There is no config button in the vdj i got with the hercules though. I can only config the hercules unit. Yeah the pro version is cool to download at 98quid so may well do that as its loads cheaper than usual but i just wanted to see if eveybody thinks the vdj 7 pro is all good or you can use the vdj le for djing?
Or its a le version for the fact i cant get to the config...

ok then download the free home version and check it with the rmx and see config issue....
maybe the le version didnt load properly
are you using mac or windows o/s
 
I take it you have used the config in the LE version (that comes with the hercules rmx)
I use a pc mate. I also take it the hercules rmx works fine with the vdj7 pro update?

yes to both the above mate..but to be honest dont know much about le version as i bought pro as soon as i got my rmx....and the pro then was version 5 i think..
remember to check vdj or hercules on tips and hints for dj on laptop they work a dream with midi/vdj ect.

its just that i bought rmx and vdj to make my job easier and have fun.....with vdj pro i could do everythin videos karaoke audio all at once and in quick time for my customers...and for me no more cases of cds/karaoke machines and discs big old denon decks and i havent looked back.....
did you try downloading the le version from vdj teamer as i said and use it before you make your decision
 
Sure, sounds good mate. Thats why ive gone onto the rmx as it saves me carrying my cdjs and big ol mixer around in the coffin...Ive got the le version at the moment so do you reccommend me downloading the home version? Or download another LE verson? all in all though you reccommend the Pro version for mobiles etc rather than the le or home version?
 
well the le or home versions dont allow you to use plugins ect if im wrong someone will chime in.
but if you earn money from djing and are serious about vdj then yes pro all the way.
and remember all future updates are free.
type in the search box to find any info you need from the forums it helps a lot.
once you map the rmx the way you want button by button the job becomes fun and job a lot easier good luck pal
 
Cool beans Cheers matey.Yeah i do mobiles only now as my job needs a bit more focus than it used to, but it'll be good to get used to and, as you say the updates are free from then on, and the support is immense .. Plus as you'll know from it, the cost of the update is a couple of hours djing!

Just as a +1 on here, I upgraded to Pro shortly after I got my Herc, and I've never looked back, the fact that you can download all the plugins for free and skins etc, then there is the sheer amount of things you can do with virtual dj as a program... I would say you only see about a tenth of the potential in the LE versions.

As djstaffy suggested, download the home version for free... Try it for about ten minutes, and I'm pretty sure you'll have your mind made up =P.

Hey guys

Just downloaded Home edition. Yep its much better than the LE and am thinking i am defo gonna get the Pro version.. Is there anyway of testing the Home edition out on the Hercules Rmx console or is it just the Pro edition i can use?(and when i buy the Pro edition is it easy to configure to work woth the Rmx)

You can use it for 10 minutes then it resets. Its only meant as a trial. I would just go pro don't waste time with the free version...........

how can i configure my RMX on the vdj tht comes with it??
 
Sorry, VirtualDJ Console Edition that comes with the RMX is free limited software and does not allow any customisation of the mappings or custom skins, effects, etc. to be used (Except during the 20 day trial of Pro.)
