Agree with that! Hell I don't even have a guitar center in my town, lol!

Yes, people are in remote areas where access to gear before purchase is difficult.

Hence, why I made the second statement about getting feedback from fellow DJs that have touched, tested, or even have the unit in question.

But to go completely off a picture, written text, or small promotion video is done at a complete risk and only starts one out for a disappointing experience - because they drew all the wrong conclusions up front.

Why is this controller marketed to beginners?

The same reason people rob banks :)

huh?

Armed robbers that shoot themselves in the foot! ;).

For some reason half of my post did not show up.

This controller seems to be one of the most functional controls built to date. It seems to have everything you need if you use virtual Dj or traktor.

It seems like anyone from beginner to pro could use it. They are doing it an injustice by marketing it as a product for beginners.

I was going to buy a vci100 mk2 , but I may wait. This controller has gotten my attention.

Heard the jogwheels on this unit are not touch sensitive so whats the use wasting soo much money on a controller which don't have something which controller with lower price has it :-D

Well the problem is that (for anyone other than a beginner) it's lacking some basic functionality.

For starters it only has a single mic input, that's on a jack, and only has a volume control. That control is tiny, and on the rear
of the Ergo. For anyone seriously doing mobile gigs, that's just a joke.

Even their DDJ-T1 controller, at around twice the price, only has one mic input, on a jack, with a tiny volume control.

the jogs are touch sensitive ..

ive used to show vdj 3 days @ BPM Show with this Controller.

The 1 only Thing i dont realy like is the feeling of the Cue and Play Button..

jogs aren't actually touch sensitive like 90% of controllers, they are pressure sensitive, which I persinally don't like the feeling of, but a mate has them he loves them although he doesn't scratch.

personally the only two features that are good on this unit are the two types of leds on the jog.. the position one is self explanatory, it means you don't need to look at the screen unless loading a track. The blue leds I feel are a good addition but not utilised in a good way, if i was dumb enough to buy this id remap those leds to tell me if the jogs are controlling effects, I wouldn't want to advertise that i need to rely on the computer to match the beats for me

oh real ? i dont notice any difference between the jog of the ergo and the one of the N4 ... perhaps a real "Scratch" Guys feels it but not mine ..

I might be wrong, I have never touched the ergo, that was in reference to the ddj t1, it has the same platters as the cdj 400

I am worried about the heat that laptop will make when blocked like this ;)

Ask a bank robber why he robbed a back. I can bet his answer will be. "because that's where the money is" I think a lot of manufacturers are realizing an important point. If you market to the 11 dj's that say this is how it should be you end up bankrupt. Some of the biggest complainers have never seen more then a picture of the unit before they discount it in one way or another. Choices are now more then ever in the DJ controller world there really is something for everyone out there, but the old formulas just don't work anymore. That is why forward thinking companies like Pioneer made a controller like this.

They can keep their space age controller for all I care, I find it really odd how they came out with this when there are controllers like the MC6000 out, but then you see people on here say wow this is amazing I can't wait to get one!

But the Ergo is entry level (as is the price), the MC6000 is a pro controller. They can't really be compared to each other.

As I see the pricetag is a lot similar but Denon is really Pro device that is simply better.

Had my DDJ-ERGO for 2 weeks now and loving it i dont scratch but i do alot of mixing and find it great to use the sound quality is amazing and the lighting system is very good and i have had alot of ooos and ahhhs about it ha ha i will say that the mic input is not bad but with the lack of control on it really lets it down but as a whole i really like this controller i have two freinds in the industry and they like there Ergo's just as much as me.
