"It's been designed to work with every Virtual DJ'ing software on the market, although it ships with Virtual DJ" - anything wrong with that sentence?

Nobody at Pioneer seems to know anything about software.

Not really my style but he's using VDJ and it doesn't sound that bad,

Enjoy

DJ filo,

That controller looks awesome. Though the peculiar space-age aesthetic may not be for everyone, I love it and would not mind possessing one over my Hercules any day. Good choice!

I just bought the Pioneer ergo can anyone lead me to how to map it with virtual Dj Pro. I thought it was plug and play. Please email me at jmendoza7909@gmail.com. Any help is greatly appreciated.

With the purchase of the LATEST PRO FULL available for download - you do not need to map it. It is already natively supported.

You get a discount when upgrading from the VirtualDJ LE that was supplied with the controller - you can upgrade here - http://www.virtualdj.com/buy/index.html - by using the center section labeled - UPGRADE.

Had the controller 3 days and used it live at 2 gigs so far. It's absolute fantastic.

I've been a professional DJ and work all over europe for the last 10years and haven't used much that's better than this kit.

It's quite sturdy on it's own and the full range of features are better than most controllers on the market - especially for it's price range.

The jog weel is the same size as the 400's and spot on for scratching etc and as close to my pioneer 1000's as we'll ever get digitally through software.

I use it with Traktor 2 but may switch back to Serato when it becomes available in December.

Only thing i'd like to find is a decent case for it.

You use it with T2 and waiting for DJ Intro ??

Why are you not using it with VirtualDJ?

just picked it up on black friday online for $494!!!!

got it in the mail today. so far i like it better than my vci-100 and every button on the machine is really usefull. the jogs are better than i thought and i can actually scratch with them!!

i just didnt realize it was as big as it is but so far so good. im still learning the ins and outs of the machine and will report back soon.

it works well with vdj can't wait to try it out on serato intro!

I just don't like T2 as much as i did with T1 and the way it beatmatches.

I only use VirtualDJ for Karaoke/VDJ'ing gigs, which at the moment i don't do.

Also, i'm looking forward to Intro as i was a long term Serato Scratch Live user until last year and miss using the software. The Intro software looks as spot on as i ever wanted Serato to be. Only time will tell.

Still curious why you use VirtualDJ for ONLY 'Video' format gigs?

If the ability to match beats (aka Sync) is the only reason for T2 - then what is the problem with VirtualDJ's SYNC (specifically with the ERGO)?

And I am just trying to get a sense of your perspective. I believe everyone should use what best fits their needs and what they are most comfortable with - so, I understand your choices because of your history with the other applications. Just looking for your 'opinion' on why you have made your choices.

VDJ is hands down the best feature packed software out there. For me - it's just never been as rock solid as the rest and although it's as close as it's ever been to being crash-proof as the other software, it's still not there for me for live performance in the large thousands of capacity venues i regularly dj in.

For Karaoke gigs and video mixing gigs, they're usually small few hundred capacity venues and so i'm not as fussed so use VDJ.

VDJ also doesn't seem to stretch tracks as well i've found and can miss beats etc and doesn't have the full packed track detail on screen as T2/Serato's coloured waveform does.

Does anybody know if you can change the TK filter, to other filters or noises like white/pink noise, low/high bandpass, or jet filters?

Also is there anybody here that can compare this with the Pioneer S1? I've looked at it and I really like the aesthetics of it over the ergo, though I don't like its lack of 4 deck functionality. I'm interested in a comparative look at the two controllers, outside of their respective software, if that is possible.

Has anybody used it with traktor? I don't like traktor but I"m curious as to how it performs with other hardware since Serrato intro will be out in coming weeks.

I went to my local Dj store to mess around with the Ergo and i dont think its a great piece. Its a OK piece and It does what it supposed to do. The up faders are stiff, the Jog feels alittle stiff. Its a basic deck for entry level. To compare this with the DDJ S1 or T1, Its the same thing but just slightly smaller. You are getting the same feel and same looking buttons and knobs. Its different in shape and color. I bought a numark NS6 and it feels better and responds really good. I dont use it for my main gigs but i use it at a small bar.

you guys can take off the white stands underneath it. i just took mine off and it makes it so much easier to scratch being flat rather than up at a 45 degree angle.

The faders aren't stiff on my ERGO at all. The knobs were to start with but have soon loosened up and are very nice.

The controller is rugged plastic and is quite sturdy for a plastic controller. Cases for it can be bought from swanflight.com for just over £120. I'm just about to invest.

It DOES offer 4 deck control although only 2 faders.

I've used the DDJT1 and S1 and to be honest, for the price difference - i would never invest in the more expensive controllers after using this.

One AMAZING thing i've found with the ERGO is it's platter sensitivity. It seems much closer to a CDJ1000/2000's sensitivity than others out there (i've used them all!).

I tested the ergo yesterday and it does feel like a toy. The jog wheels feel similar to the cdj 400 (which I currently use). I am in the market for a controller that is portable and easy to carry. I don't like lugging around my coffin with 2 decks and a mixer. My local music store had at least 8 - 10 controllers that I was able to test. I am a pioneer fan, and was surprised on the plasticy housing and the dj hero feel you get with it. I tested the vci-300 (they did not have the 400) and it felt way more solid that the ergo. I am going to think it over for a while before I purchase. On my way to the store, I was almost 100% going to buy the ergo. Now not so much. I want to wait to try the vci-400 before I make any decision. Hope this helps.

Just to 'clear' up some of the misconceptions about the DDJ-ERGO and it's construction ...

"Plastic" -- it is the SAME material used with the other DDJs - it is just not in the same FORM design and it is WHITE verse Black or Gunsmoke.

"Fader Caps & Knobs" -- Same as used with the other DDJs.

"JOGs" -- they are the SAME Jogs used with the other DDJ products - they just have translucent 'gun-smoke' outer rims so the LEDs can show through.

"SOUND" -- Same sound card as used with the other DDJ products - with Pioneer tested harmonic distortion better than the S1 and only 0.001% difference from the T1

Exactly, it is an absolute bargain price for an unbelievable controller. After using the top of the range DJ products for the past 12years - i'm so happy with the ERGO.
