Sujet: American Audio VMS4 Problem - Page: 1

Cette partie de ce topic est ancien et peut contenir des informations obselètes ou incorrectes

I have set up my American Audio VMS4 in the following way and do not get any sound:
4out/8out: 4out
CF A: Ch2
CF B: Ch3
Ch1: Analog
Ch2: USB
Ch3: USB
Ch4: Analog
Normal/Reverse: Normal

Sound set Up:
Input: None
Output:Single Outputs
Sound Card: VMS4

Can someone tell me what I am doing wrong??

Superaceman, your link goes to a page with nothing on it

Works OK for me.

You need to put your sound card to 4 out. Then adjust which decks control which midlogs. If you still don't have it I can send you pictures of the setup, just write on my wall to let me know!

Use the advanced config instead of the single output device ....then follow the instruction in this link.... http://www.virtualdj.com/wiki/VMS4%20/%20VMS4.1.html

are you useing just 2 decks???
or are you useing 2 virtual decks and useing 2 input channels for other hardware???

if not and you are useing 4 virtual decks i would recomend changeing it to 8 out mode
and setting all 4 channel selecters to usb input....
the cross fader seletion looks fine...
in the configuration change it to advanced configuration.

i would recommend downloading the vms4 mapper by djdad at it is near perfectly setup. also his vms4 skin will work great

I don't know what happened but at my last gig everything was all screwed up, BADLY!! It has been perfectly fine for over a year and now it's all fkd up! I followed the advanced config setting and it all worked fine for about 2 hours and then suddenly VDJ just keeps on crashing over and over and over again!! The config menu keeps popping up and I can't stop it. Sometime the config menu will open more than thirty windows! Then when I try to close them, more pop up?! If that doesn't happen, the mouse curser with start acting weird then VDJ just shuts down. No warning except the curser's weird activity seconds before it shuts down.

Any clues as to what the hell is going on after a year of solid performance?! I have even tuned up my laptop several times, then it did it again. I also tried another laptop, TOTALLY DIFFERENT MACHINE!! Same Exact PROBLEM! Maybe my four external drives are saving the screwed up settings for my VMS4.1 on the database?!

Please help. Normally I am the one helping people with VDJ all over the net, now I'm in dire need of some.

Thanks!

did you use the same mapper to the second laptop ?

Can you check if something is assigned as ..settings in the mapper, e.g. the Jogwheel ?

This wasn't a problem before. It worked right out of the box with the same mapper on different laptops for almost a year that I've owned the VMS4.1. Something else threw off the settings

Nothing? No one? Still having severe issues

Which Version of VDJ do you use...?

Went to the American DJ HQ today, not only did they repair my VMS4.1 but they gave me a new one as a backup loaner. After I got them to my studio/office I have connected both units and still get the same problems mentioned earlier in this thread except the mapping issues are fine now. But the Config menu still keeps popping up 10,000 times then VDJ just shuts down. 2 entirely separate units? WTH!?

I am using the latest version of VDJ as it is released (7.3 now). I'm using no custom mappers, only what comes up when the hardware (VMS4.1) is detected. I still get nothing when trying to access the link?! DJDad, how do I send you the mapper? Though I doubt this is the problem but I mean how do I find that info to send?

Thanks

Check .. MyDocuments\VirtualDJ\Mappers and MyDocuments\VirtualDJ\Devices folders.
Send me any files related with the VMS4 you find in those folders to the above email address.

Btw, have you installed the Torq Software recently ? If yes, uninstall it and try again.

Heck no, no Torq. I do have Serato Itch for the VCI-380 installed though as well as some Nero audio & video editing software

Rude, you have mapped your crossfader as .. settings

Change that to fake_crossfader & video_crossfader

How did that happen? lol

hehe I can only imagine scratching away and for every cut opens up a settings window :D

How exactly should it read? Because I did what you said and it reads:

Key Action

CROSSFADER fake_crossfader & video_crossfader

The bad news:

Now the crossfader does not crossfade between channels. Both channels are audible now matter the position of the crossfader.

The good news:

The config menu no longer pops up indiscriminately and it no longer shuts down, so we have made progress!

Thanks for your help!!

if you need the software crossfader the just remove the fake_ and it should crossfade as normal
