Could someone do me a favour and paste in a list of some of the videos on the 8thwonder website?
How are they for dance?

They are still building a video library, currently most of the videos are urban and mashups. They do have some Dance as well as Pop. But, for $10.00 it isn't a bad deal and you can cancel at anytime.

Had a look at loads of these sites, seems if you're into the whole "urban" thing everybody has it well covered.... god help you if you're after anything else though, seems like slim pickings whichever site you choose...

Exactly my point - but they all claim dance is well covered..

I decided to give 8thwonder a go being as it's virtually risk free at $10 per month.
I've spent a few hours going through it and for the price it's very good!
Loads of MP3's on there at anything from 128-320kbps, covering mainstream, house, and urban.
I was worried about the videos as the ones I first downloaded were low quality, but the newer additions are better - not quite as good as smashvidz.
The variety of videos is quite promising compared to what I've seen.

I ended up signing up for 8th wonder... $10 .. what the heck.. try it out.
I also needed an instrumental track from something I was editing too and I know that they have mp3's as well.
My opinion of the videos selection...
well...
Not consistent. Hard to navigate through. Can't read the entire title. Not categorized. Files are named all different per download. Sloppy editing! Very unprofessional.
I actually saw a video that had a PROMO ONLY tag on it and then also an 8thwonder TAG too!!!
look for "dj disciple - work it out" on the site and you will see the promo only watermark on the bottom right corner. Isn't that completely wrong of them to upload and distribute another video services content and tag it as their own?
I guess you get what you pay for.
At least with Smashvidz it is very organized and you can navigate through different genres with ease.
The editing is MUCH better at smashvidz and it is updated WEEKLY!
I agree it mainly urban based tracks but with some time it will be more of a diverse selection. You'll see!

I agree with low-fat-al
Smash vidz may be Urban based now...but considering that down the line they may be offering the latest reggae vids with more options than any other video service around... will make it an asset .... their selection will get more diversed as time progresses

I agree Low-fat,
But I hope you posted these observations to the team, or else it will never get better.
The point is, for the price it's a bargain despite the shortfalls - improve the service just a bit and it'll be worth more.
Much of the content is very usable.., however I'd rather pay smash an extra $10 monthly for greater/more diverse output.

I was with my12inch.com for awhile for videos but my VDJ did't play them, I had to re-format their files which was a pain.
